Skalds Gild Hall

Welcome!

At the moment, the Freehold Skald's Gild consists of we Freeholders who are taken to waxing poetic.

Most of our activity centres around the Freehold Holy-Day Events, presenting our poetry, as well as readings of folk-tales and selected historical classics from the Poetic Eddas for example, not to mention new and old folk-songs and folk music with a Heathen bent.

On the sidelines we are engaged in an ongoing, even if gradual, study of the epic poetry, folktales and folk music of the Germanic world.

Leadership of the guild is based on merit. Basically, he or she must win the crowd with skillful oratory, poetic expression and inspired speech. May the most skillful story-teller in the Freehold lead this guild!
